MR. BELL URGES PETROL TAX
A petrol tax as a solution of road maintenance problems is advocated by Mr. A. Bell (Bay of Islands) who will ask the Minister of Internal Affairs in the House to promote legislation providing for a petrol tax, as a more equitable contribution by owners of motor vehicles to the construction and upkeep of both main and subsidiary roads.
