MOTOR OLYMPIA

BIG SHOW NEXT MONTH MODELS OF 1928 "DIGGER and better is the slogan the Auckland motor traders have adopted for this year’s Motor Olympia, to be opened on July 9. The 1928 models of cars, trucks, lorries, and motor-cycles will make a great display. The association, under the presidency of Mr. F. G. Farrell, has secured the use of four sheds on the Central "Wharf. This will enable the whole show to be housed on one floor, instead of on lower and upper floors as in last year’s exhibition. Although this will mean that the lay-out will be slightly different, the pleasing practice of having the whole show uniformly arranged and decorated will be adhered to. The opening date has been fixed for July 9, the exhibition continuing until July 16.

A successful effort has been made to get a full display of all types of motorvehicles, and stands have been taken up by practically every motor-dealer in Auckland.

Expensive cars, cheap cars, motorcycles and lorries, all will be exhibited, and the public is promised an interesting show. VOGUE OF THE CLOSED CAR

The luxurious comfort of the highpriced motor-cars will attract the attention of lovers of beauty and ease, and the needs of the motorist with a small purse looking for a runabout will not be neglected.

Motorists who follow the trend of car designs will be interested in the developments made since the last olympia. Two factors can safely be foretold, the increase in the number of closed cars and the increased popularity of the British car. The management of Olympia is in the hands of a general executive committee, comprising Messrs. Farrell, G. W. Spragg, G. M. White, W. S. Miller, H. Grant, F. F. Laing, and S. L. Weller.

Finance, decoration, entertainment and publicity committees have also been elected Mr. Theo. J. Spry is olympia general secretary this year.
