WINTER EXHIBITION
JUDGES APPOINTED The joint committee of the Winter Exhibition met yesterday afternoon, Mr. J. A. C. Allum presiding. The manager reported that an arrangement had been made for the broadcasting of music through the sheds, to obviate the necessity of paying orchestras. The Prime Minister had replied to an invitation to be preesnt to open the exhibition that he would be unable to do so, but would send a Minister ol the Crown. It was decided to interview Mr. Coates to-morrow to ask him to send the Hon. A. D. McLeod. Space was almost booked out, entries were promising and would be up tc those of last year. It was decided to ask the following to be judges for the exhibitions: Dair> produce, Government graders; honey W. Westbrook: flax, Governmenl grader. District courts judges: Roots, G. Sinclair; cooking, D. Nairn; fresland preserved meats, W. Mark; honey. Government grader; jams and preserves, F. M. Hills; dairy produce Government graders; wines, S. Reid; curios. G. Archey; manufactured goods, B. Buttle and J. E. Astley; needlework. Miss Fife; art modelling, drawing and painting, Miss Copeland; commercial art, M. K. Draffin and F. M. Hills; photography, E. S. Pegler. A report of a delegation sent to the Hamilton Show to get entries for root crops and farm produce regretted that no great success had been attained. However, a list of addreses of exhibitors had been obtained and these had been circularised asking for entries.
