SCHOOL DOCTORS

AN AMAZING PETITION (THE. SUN'S Parliamentary Reporter.)WELLINGTON, To-day. would gladly replace the school doctor by a sanitary engineer” is the amazing statement in a petition from the Ba£ of Islands seeking the exemption of children from compulsory medical examination.

The petitioners represent the People’s Public School Protection League. They repudiated the right of any specific medical trust to dictate that any school of medicine shall be enforced by law upon the people. “Furthermore } ” the petition goes on: “We ask that against our children teachers shall not be used as business agents for doctors, thus giving us the free right of the choice of a physician, knowing as we do that many deaths were caused by school doctors, even up to 1925, in Canada and America.”
