AMATEUR ATHLETICS

AT DOMAIN TO-MORROW CROSS-COUNTRY TEAM The Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club will hold the seventh meet- ( of its winter series of competitions at the Domain to-morrow afternoon, at two o’clock sharp. The programme will consist of a three-mile steeplechase, 75yds handicap, throwing the discus, and putting the shot events. The Auckland team chosen to represent this centre at the New Zealand cross-country championship meeting, to be held at Christchurch next Saturday, July 2, will not be competing in to-morrow’s steeplechase, as they are reserving their energy for the Dominion meeting The team, consisting of G. Kells, J. W. Savidan, N. F. Cooper, and C. Scown, will leave for the Sputh by the Limited on Sunday evening. Entries for to-morrow’s events close with Mr. W. Morton at 5 p.m. today.
