ARREST AT HOSPITAL

MAINTENANCE DEFAULTER SPELL OF ILL-LUCK Bernard McDonald, aged 32, was discharged from the Auckland Hospital yesterday. Before he left the institution he was in police charge. McDonald appeared at the Police Court this morning charged with being £lO 2s 6d in arrears on a maintenance order. Mr. Goldstein, who appeared for McDonald, said that defendant had been in Westport, Wanganui and Auckland Hospitals, during the period in which the defaults were made. Recently, he had undergone a serious operation in Auckland Hospital. Money to meet his obligation had been lodged by relatives. The case, was adjourned for a week.
