OFFENDERS AT OPOTIKI (From Our Own Correspondent.) OPOTIKI, To-day. T3ATRICK Vaugh arrived in Opotiki a week ago with £4O. In thta period he was twice convicted of drunkenness and ended up the “spree” with 9s 7d. The presiding Justice fined him and ordered him to return at once to his job at Waimana. James Galway pleaded guilty to being an idle and disorderly person, having no lawful means of support; also with resisting Constable Heaslip and inflicting several nail scratches on the constable’s face. He was convicted on the first two charges and on the major charge was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment in Mount Eden Gaol. Joseph Michael, of Illy, pleaded guilty to being an idle and disorderly person without lawful means of support. He was convicted and sentenced to one month’s imprisonment in Opotiki Gaol.
