REP. HOCKEY

VARSITY V. KING COUNTRY WIN FOR FORMER (From Our Oiun Correspondent.) TAUMARUNUI, Wednesday. The eagerly awaited representative hockey match, Auckland Varsity versus King Country, took place at Taumarunui to-day in execrable weather, and on a very heavy ground. The game was a hard-fought one, no scores being registered at half-time. In the second half two goals were registered for Varsity, the scorers being Radcliffe and Hume. The contest was fought out in an excellent sporting spirit, and future meetings between these reps, will be looked for. The Auckland team was entertained at a dance in the evening.
