A BRIGHTER TONE WAIHI JUNCTION AT 1/6 A brighter tone was registered on the ’Change this morning. The call yesterday afternoon was the busiest for some time, several parcels of mining' and safer classes of securities being dealt with. The mining section registers greater activity and Waihi’s are firmer, buyers leaving the market at mid-day quoting 19s. Waihi Junctions have strengthened to see a sale at Is 6d, and sellers now ask Is 8d with buyers Is 4d. Lucky Shot (con.) shares were dealt with at 2s. A sale of the new issue of Moanataiori is also recorded at 2s The insurance section continues firm, New Zealand’s passing at £2. On a firm market, sellers of Government and local body bonds and debentures are hard to locate.
