MANUREWA TOWN BOARD
The Manurewa Town Board met on Monday, 20th. Present: Messrs. Sexton (chair), Fawcett, Cox, Lupton, arid Osborne. Mr. Fawcett reported that the grass had been graded off the path on Marr’s Road, and that the path opposite six dwellings on Jellicoe Road had been cleared. The surfacing of these paths was deferred pending enquiries by Mr. Fawcett for a supply of metal dust. Contractors for Great South Road were granted permission to cease excavation work during the wet weather provided the contract was finished in November. It was decided to call upon Mr. Corin to repair damage done to the footpath on Jellicoe Road and put in a temporary crossing for his car. Notice is to be served on Mr. Walker calling upon him to clear the watercourse through his property and to ask him to explain why he has blocked the entrance to the drain under Jellicoe Road. The appointment of Daniel Fletcher as traffic inspector upon the terms agreed upon with Otahuhu and Papatoetoe was confirmed. On the motion of the chairman, it was resolved to patch the lower end of Massey Road with 50yds of rubble. Work on Brown’s Road was also authorised. Mr. Biernacki offered to reduce his claim in connection with the cemetery to £1,050, but the board decided to offer £750 without prejudice.
