PERSONAL. —Captain T. Farrell has assumed command of the Gunbar, vice Captain E. Gibson. Mr. E. R. Pate has joined the Kurow as third officer in place of Mr. A. Haslam, who has taken the former’s post. s.s second officer of the Manuka. Mr. L. Sunley has succeeded Mr. W. J. Campbell as second engineer of the Kittawa. Mr. P. C. Williams is now mate of the Alexander, vice Mr. W. J. Carey. SYDNEY STEAMERS.— The Union Company advises that the passenger steamer Marama will leave Auckland at 3 p.m. on Friday for Sydney and the Maheno will sail from Wellington at 11 a.m. on Friday also for Sydney. Both vessels are due at the New South Wales port next Tuesday. VESSELS FOR NEWCASTLIE— The Union Company advises that the steamer Kaitoke is to leave Auckland at 3 p.m. to-day for Newcastle, and the Kaiwarra sails on Monday for the same port. Both vessels will load for New Zealand ports. MELBOURNE SERVICE.— Due at Melbourne yesterday from Wellington, the Union Company advises that the passenger steamer Moeraki will leave again on Friday for Wellington, where she is due on June 29. The Moeraki is scheduled to sail from Wellington at 4 p.m. on June 30, from Lyttelton on Jul-” 1, from Dunedin on July 4, and from Bluff on July 5 for Melbourne. WAIPAHI IN PORT.— The Union Company’s fruit steamer Waipahi arrived at Auckland yesterday afternoon from the Cook Islands and berthed at the King’s Wharf to discharge her cargo and mails. Good weather generally was experienced on the voyage. The Waipahi is scheduled to leave Auckland again on June 30 for the Islands. REMUERA’S ITINERARY. The New Zealand Shipping Co.’s Remuera at present discharging the remainder of her London cargo at Wellington, will leave next Tuesday to load at Timaru, Lyttelton and Auckland. She is to sail from Auckland on July 16 for Southampton and London, via Pitcairn Island and Panama. RARANGA REPORTED. —The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Raranga is reported to have reached Port Stanley (Falkland Islands) last Sunday. The vessel sailed from Wellington on May 31 for London, via Falkland Islands, Montevideo and Teneriffe. IKALA CLEARED NORFOLK. En route from Montreal and Newport News to New Zealand, the steamer Ikala cleared Norfolk, Virginia, on Sunday. The vessel is running under the auspices of the New Zealand Shipping Company and she is bringing general merchandise .for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne and Sydney. SAN FRANCISCO STEAMERS.— The Union Company advises that the R.M.S. Makura will leave Wellington to-day for Auckland, where she is due on Friday for docking to have the rivets replaced which sprung during her voyage from Sydney. On completion of her repairs the vessel will continue her trip to Rarotonga, Papeete and San Francisco. The R.M.S. Tahiti sailed from San Francisco last Wednesday for Sydney, via Papeete, Rarotonga and Wellington, and is due at Wellington on July 4. lONIC'S ITINERARY.— L. D. Nathan and Company, Ltd., have received advice that the Shaw, Savill and Albion liner lonic, which is due at Wellington next Monday from London and Southampton, will land passengers and mail at Wellington and then go to Lyttelton, Port Chalmers and Bluff to unload general merchandise. For her homeward Voyage the vessel will load at Port Chalmers, Bluff, Lyttelton and Wellington. She is scheduled to leave Wellington finally on July 27 for Southampton and London, via Panama. HINEMOA FROM NIUE ISLAND. —Loaded with 1,200 cases of fruit and Id tons of copra, fungus and general cargo, the New Zealand Government steamer Hinemoa (Capt. A. R. Cant) arrived back at Auckland last evening from Niue Island, and berthed at Queen’s Wharf. The vessel left Auckland on June 8 and experienced fine weather accompanied by light southwesterly breezes all the way to Niue, where she arrived on June *l3. After discharging her cargo and taking on fruit, the Hinemoa left again the next day for Auckland. The return journey was also uneventful, moderate winds and seas prevailing throughout. Messrs. Spedding, Ltd.. the local agents, advise that the Hinemoa will be laid up for about a month undergoing annual overhaul and survey. After completing she will be despatched on Julv 14 for Norfolk Island. On returning again the vessel is scheduled to make an extended cruise to the Islands to embark leper patients for the Fijian leper station on Mokogai k Island,
TEKOA SAILS TO-DAY.— In continuation of her voyage from Liverpool, the New Zealand Shipping Company is despatching- the steamer Tekoa to-day for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and New Plymouth. CARGO FROM CANADA— The New Zealand Shipping Co. advises that the Schouwen is to leave Montreal on July 25 with general cargo to discharge at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin.
HAURAKI SAILING. —Owing to bad weather, the Union Company’s motorship Hauraki did not complete her discharge yesterday, consequently the vessel is now timed to leave Auckland at 3 p.m. to-day for Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney to put out the balance of her Pacific Coast cargo. TAMAROA LEAVES HOME. Cabled news has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Co. that the Tamaroa, after loading at London, left Southampton on Friday afternoon for Wellington and Auckland. The vessel is due at Wellington on July 23 and at .Auckland a week later.
