RIALTO AND REGENT, EPSOM

“ONE INCREASING PURPOSE” The old Ship Inn, on High Street, in Southwark, is one of the London landmarks shown in Fox Films’ version of ‘ One Increasing Purpose,” which is now being shown at the Rialto and Regent Theatres. This is one of the few surviving old coaching inns of London, and was used until the time of Charles Dickens as one of the principal termini of the stage coaches going into London from country towns. All of the exteriors in this production were made in and around London in order to show the actual location described in A. S. M. Hutchinson’s noyel. Edmund Lowe heads the all-star cast, which includes May Allison, Lila Lee, Lawford Davidson. Holmes Herbert. Jane Novak, and Huntley Gordon. Harry Beaumont directed the production.
