FRANCE SEEKS PEACE
ATTITUDE TOWARD GERMANY By Cable. — Press Association.—Copyright PARIS, Sunday. Important references to the relations between France and Germany were made by the Premier, M. Poincare, at the unveiling: of a war memorial at Luneville. M. Poincare said France was not seeking reasons for maintaining perpetual hatred and resentment toward Germany. But why should high authorities in Germany carry on a campaign with the object of demanding a revision of the Dawes plan? If Germany stated definitely that no attempt v'ould be made to regain Alsace-Lor-raine, either by violence or by trick; if she reorganised her police, dissolved her military societies and destroyed her fortresses; she w r ould give the ■world guarantees of her pacific intentions, and facilitate a rapprochement which France would not be the last to desire. —A. and NJL
