KAITOKE FOR NEWCASTLE.— The Union Company advise that the steamer Kaitoke is to leave Auckland at 8 p.m. to-day for Newcastle, where she will load for Lyttelton. HAURAKI SAILS TO-DAY. In continuation of her voyage from Pacific Coast ports, the Union Company’s motor-ship Hauraki is scheduled to leave Auckland at 5 p.m. today for Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. ROTORUA FOR HOME. —With passengers, mails, and cargo, the New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Rotorua is scheduled to sail from Wellington at 3 p.m. to-day for Lorfdon and Southampton, via Panama. REPLACEMENT OF BUOY. The Superintendent of Mercantile Marine advises shipmasters that Rikutu Rock buoy, at Tokomaru Bay, is now replaced. NORFOLK AT PANAMA.— The Federal Line steamer Norfolk which sailed from Auckland for London, Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool on May 28, reached Panama last Saturday. HERTFORD LEAVES PANAMA. A cable message received by the Federal Company states that the Hertford arrived at Panama on June 14 from Wellington, and sailed again on the same date for London, Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool. The vessel left Wellington on May 22. LAMB STEAMER CM AN A. —With poles and coal from Sydney, Newcastle, and Port Stephens, the Lamb steamer Omana will reach Auckland on Thursday, according to wireless advice received by the Northern Company. The cargo is for discharge at Auckland and Napier. HORORATA REPORTED- The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Hororata is reported to have reached Newport News, last Saturday, en route from London to Suva, Wellington, and Auckland. She is due at Wellington on July 14, and at Auckland about a week later. TUTANEKAI DUE SHORTLY.— The Government steamer Tutanekai. which is on her periodical visit to East Coast and Northern lighthouses, was landing stores at the East Cape yesterday. Captain Rollons advises that he expects to reach Auckland or? Thursday or Friday. FRUIT STEAMER WAIPAHI.— Arriving at Auckland at 3 o’clock this afternoon from Eastern Pacific Islands, the Union Company fruit steamer Waipahu will, after pratique has been granted, berth at the King’s WTiarf to land her mails and cargo. She will leave Auckland again towards the end of the week on another trip to the Islands. KAIAPOI LEAVES HOBART.— From South Australian ports via Melbourne, the Union Company have received cable advice that the steamer Kaiapoi sailed from Hobart at 1 a.m. yesterday for Dunedin, Lyttelton and Auckland. She is expected to arrive here about the end of the present month. WIRRAL FROM NEW YORK.— Due at Auckland at noon on Thursday from New York, the A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer "Wirral will discharge the local portion of her cargo under the auspices of the New Zealand Shipping Company, and then proceed to Napier. Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Wanganui to discharge the balance. CARGO FROM AUSTRALIA. —The local office of the Union Company have been advised that the cargo steamer Kartigi has been delayed by bad weather, and will not be loading at Adelaide and Melbourne before the first week in July. The vessel will call at Devonport and Stanley (Tasmania) provided there is sufficient cargo offering at these two ports. The Kartigi will load for Auckland, W r ellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin.
MAHENO FROM SYDNEY.—The local office of the Union Company has been advised that the Maheno from Sydney is expected to arrive at Wellington at 8 o’clock this evening. She will leave again on Friday on her return trip. KURNALPI SOLD. The small steamer Kurnalpi, which was owned by the Wairoa Steamship Company and ran for five months in the coastal trade, has been sold to Mr. F. Appleton, of Newmarket. The vessel has been idle at an anchorage off Judge's Bay for 12 months. K! A ORA AT LONDON.—The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company have been notified by cablegram that the Ivia Ora arrived at London on Wednesday evening from Auckland, via New York. Boston and Halifax. The vessel sailed from Auckland on April 30. MIDDLESEX LEAVES PANAMA.— Cabled news has been received by the Federal Company that the Middlesex arrived at Panama on June 14 from Wellington, and sailed again on the same day for London. Avonmouth, Glasgow and Liverpool. The Vessel left Wellington on May 25. OIL FROM SINGAPORE. The British Iriiperial Oil Company’s oil tanker Malistan, 5,533 tons, Captain Myles, is on her way from Singapore to New Zealand ports, with a cargo of bulk benzine. HINEMOA ARRIVES 7 P.M. According to a radio message received by Spedding, Ltd., the Government steamer Hinemoa is expected to arrive at Auckland at seven o’clock this evening from Niue Island. She is to berth at Queen’s Wharf to land her passengers, mails, and cargo, after which she will undergo her annual overhaul and survey at this port. HAGG ERSGATE FROM NAURU.— Under time’charter to, the. Andrew Weir Line, the Turnbull/ Scott Shipping Company’s steamer Haggersgate arrived at Auckland last evening with a load of phosphates from Nauru, and berthed this morning at King’s Wharf. The vessel left Barry, England, towards the end of January and proceeded to Port Arthur (Texas) in ballast. She took on a load of case oil there for China and Japan. After discharging this in the Far East, the Haggersgate went to Nauru and loaded phosphates. She left the island on
June 7 and experienced fresh winds all the way. About three days ago the wind increased to a gale and bad weather followed. Heavy head seas broke over the ship and although she was delayed considerably, no damage was done. Captain J. W. Readman is in command of the vessel, and the following are his officers: Chief, Mr. G. Screeton; second, Mr. P. W. Taylor; third, Mr. A. D. Niblett; chief engineer, Mr. W. G. Ryles; second, Mr. R. Conner; third, Mr. E. Day; fourth, Mr. T. O’Dwyer; wireless operator, Mr. S. Nettleton. Messrs. Henderson and Macfarlane, the local agents, expect to dispatch the Haggersgate on Thursday evening for New Plymouth to complete her discharge. MARAMA ARRIVES.—With passengers, mails and cargo, the Union Company’s intercolonial passenger steamer Marama arrived at Auckland this morning from Sydney and after pratique was granted berthed at the Queen’s Wharf. The vessel left the New South Wales port shortly after 3 p.m. last Friday and experienced variable winds and seas until yesterday when she ran into a heavy head gale which was accompanied by high seas, causing the steamer to lose time.
