KURNALPI SOLD
AFTER YEAR IN THE STREAM The steamer Kurnalpi, which has been anchored in the harbour for the past 12 months, has been sold at last. Mr. F. Appleton, the machinery merchant, of Newmarket, has bought her from the owners, a Dargaville syndicate. j The Kurnalpi, formerly known as the Heina, was sold by the; Melbonfe Steamship Company to her late owners early last year. The vessel was run for about five months from Auckland to Northern ports but the venture did not prove a success, and she was withdrawn from the service and anchored in the stream, where she has been ever since. The Kurnalpi was built in Norway in 1903. She is 166 ft long and registers 495 tens gross:
