FASHION PARADE

MADE IN NEW ZEALAND TOWN HALL DISPLAY “As good as any imported goods,” was the opinion frequently expressed at the various stands at the Town Hall lasts evening. The display of New Zealand-made goods was continued last evening and again this afternoon, the public manifested their approval of the league’s campaign by attending in large numbers. The fashion parade again proved a popular attraction. From a strikingly arranged Maori pataka at one end of the hall there emerged dainty mannequin after dainty mannequin, each wearing some delightful garment fashioned from New Zealand materials. Tailored suits, frilly gowns, overcoats, hats, shoes, hose, gloves, furs, and all the hundred-and-one other articles that milady is in constant need of, were shown in an immense variety, and were indeed a revelation in what can be accomplished in our very young country. For women interested in fashions — and what woman is not? —the display is an oxtremely interesting one. STRIKING DISPLAYS Situated on the right of the main entrance the shoe display of Messrs. Dearsly’s, Ltd., helps to solve the absorbing problem of my lady’s footwear. Here the latest dictates of fashion are complied with in a wide and very atractive range of the latest models. In dainty footwear New Zealand manufacturers are evidently not lagging behind, judging from the classic designs exhibited. In the domestic section a display of sauces by Messrs. Whittome Stevenson And Co. also catches the eye. Here all manner of condiments devised to add zest to the appetite are arranged in an attractive exhibit, which in view of the rapid growth of the Dominion’s fruit-growing industry, is of particular interest. The display will again be open to the public this evening, when a*,full list of attractions will be .offered.
