MEETING OF INTERESTS

In a lecture given in the Chamber of Commerce, Papakura. Mr. H. W. Hudson discussed the relations that exist between the commercial community and the framers. Mr. HHudson gave the lecture at the invitation of the Papakura Chamber of Commerce. Mr. C. Garlick, president of the Papakura Chamber, presided over a large attendance.

Mr. Hudson said that he was ciefly concerned with trying to dispel the feeling in the town in regard to the difficulties o? the country residents. Ho had been present at the recent provincial conference of the Farmers’ Union which was held at Whangarei, and had been able to give the conference some useful information. Mr. Hudson explained why the chamber had opposed control of butter. Finance and taxation were also dealt with by Mr. Hudson, who was accorded a hearty vote of thank* fox his address.
