ENGLAND AUSTRALIA’S BEST RESERVOIR

BRITISH MIGRANTS NEEDED COMMONWEALTH LOYALTY By Cable.—Press Association. — Copyright LONDON, Wednesday. The members of the English-speak-ing Union to-day tendered a luncheon to the Bishop of London. Dr. A. F. Win-nington-Ingram. In the course of a speech Dr. Ingram paid a tribute to Australia’s loyalty to the Empire, but he quoted an opinion to the effect that the loyalty of many thoughtful Australians was a diminishing quantity. In each succeeding generation, therefore, British infiltration was necessary. The Bishop endorsed the White Australia policy, but he reminded Australians that Britain is all white, and therefore the best reservoir from which to supply Australia. It would be impossible for 6.0.00,000 Australians much longer to hold a Continent which was capable of carrying a population of 100.000.000. —A. and N.Z.
