PAPER ON RECOVERY OF MONEY “The Recovery of Money .Paid Under Mistake,” formed the subject of a paper read by Mr. J. R. Drummond, LL.M., at a meeting of the Auckland University College Law Students’ Society last evening, over which Professor R. M. Algie presidedMr. Drummond dealt first with the general principles that, money paid under a mistake of fact was usualljr recoverable, and that money ■ aid under a mistake of law was nearly always irrecoverable. He then defined the few recognised exceptions to the two main rules. Following upon the reading of the paper an Argument took place on the points of a stated case dealing with the question of admissibility in evidence of a confession by an accused person.
