KIRKWOOD ELIMINATED By Cable. — Pres * Association.—Copyright NEW YORK, Wednesday. In the National open golf championship of America, which is being played at Oakmont, Pennsylvania, J. Kirkwood, the former Australian and New Zealand open champion, with a score of 165 in the second round, was eliminated by two strokes from the championship. Johnston, an amateur player, is leading, with a score of 147. The final round will be played tomorrow.—A. and N.Z.
Baseball in Sydney With 40 teams in four grades, the New South Wales Baseball Association has started on its record year. Never in the 28 years of its existence has it had so many players or such an enthusiastic following. International cricketer M. A. Noble is president of the association.
