AT CLUBHOUSE, BAYSWATER What promises to be a decided novelty in the way of entertainment will be provided by the Takapuna Boating Club on June 25, when “Petticoat Lane” will be produced. The whole of the interior of the spacious clubhouse has been painted to represent London’s famous street, and with the coster barrows, Jews' stalls, etc., should present a very ani-4| mated picture. A feature of the showwill be a series of ballets illustrating some of Albert Chevalier’s bestknown songs, notably “Mrs. ’Awkins.” “The Old Kent Road,” and “My Old Dutch.” Mrs. Wyatt, whose work in the training of children is well-known throughout New Zealand, is responsible for the various dances, and the results will speak for themselves. Altogether the public may expect quite a delightful entertainment each evening. Numerous illusions and sideshow's will help' to make “Petticoat Lane” one of the attractions of the year, and big business is assured. Mr. H. Melville, whose work on the Spanish Fiesta scenery last year was so favourably commented on, is again responsible for the scenic settings, and on this occasion he has surpassed all previous efforts. The show opens on Saturday, June 25, at 3 p.m., and will continue for seven nights. For the convenience of townspeople a free ferry trip will be run, leaving town at 7.30 p.m. “Petticoat Lane” should prove of special interest to our friends ”om Home.
