ODDFELLOWS FOREGATHER
One of the most successful meetings yet held by the Loyal .Papatoetoe Lodge, Manchester Unity, took place in the lodge room on Tuesday, June 14, when the bi-annual installation of officers took place. Visitors from neighbouring lodges, including officers from Auckland’s Past Grands’ Lodge, Loyal Good Intent, Pukekohe, Manurewa, Franklin, Dannevirke, Tuakau and Parnell. The most prominent visitors were Bro. Walter Gubb, D.D.G.M., Auckland District; Bro. F. Hard, P.G.; Sister Kelly, N.G. Loyal Franklin; Bro. Jackson, P.G. Loyal Franklin; Bro. King, P.G.; Bro. Rogers, P.G., Bro. Kingston, V.G., Manurewa. The installing officers were Bro. W. Gubb, D.D.G.M., Bro. H. Jackson, P.G., and a Past from the Parnell lodge. The following officers were installed for the ensuing year: Financial Secretary. Bro. W. Leach; Noble Grand. Bro. Grant Coles; Immediate Past Noble Grand, Bro. Eric Cutforth; Vice Grand, Bro. Roy Cryer;' Elective Secretary. Bro. Con Wolfe: L.M., Bro. Frank Dawe; R.G. Warden, Bro. Hector Coles; Guardian, Bro. L. Wolfe: Right Supporters. Bros. A. Mcßeth, P.G., and Bro. Northeast; Left Supporters, Bro. A. E. Nettingham and Sister J. Wright; conductors, Bro. E. H. Smith and Sister J. Wright. At the clpse of the installation ceremony a very enjoyable social was held, which was attended by a number of the members’ friends. Dancing was indulged in to the accompaniments of Bro. W. Elder, and cards were available for non-dancers. During the evening supper was supplied under the leadership of Bro. F. Dawe, P.G., assisted by members of the lodge. One lady was initiated as a member.
