U.A.O.D. INSTALLATION

The meeting of the Miro Lodge .held in the Druids’ Hall, at Raetihi, was well attended, 57 members being present, also the following visitors:—P.D.P. Bro. E, Larkin, Ohakune; P.D.P. Bro. W. Crawford, Hamilton; P.A. Bro. W. Swift, Te Kuiti; Bro. E. G. Olgar and P.A. Bro. Cooper. Coronation Lodge, and Bro. Newman, Ivy Lodge, Waimata). A.D. Bro. D. P. Scarfe presided, and D.P. Bro. B. A. Drury was the installing officer, and P.D.P. Bro. J. Lynn acted as master of ceremonies. The officers installed were:—A.D. Bro. C. Davis; V.A.D., Bro T. W. Cummins: 0.G., Bio. E. A. Willoughby; A.D.B.'s. Bros. D. Hunt, and P. Raymond; V.A.D.B.’s, Bros Anderson and Russell; secretary, P. Glasgow; treasurer, Bro. L. J. Vile; minute secretary, Bro. Dauphin. P.D.P. Bro. Larkin. on behalf of the lodge, presented P.D.P. Bro. Lynn with a gold emblem for introducing the greatest number of new members during the 12 months. P.A.D. Bro. Scarfe’s prize for selling the largest numbers of benefit tickets for the two brothers who met with accidents, was won by Bro. Hunt. D.P. Bro. Drury donated a cup for competition between the lodges in No. 22 district, to be awarded to the member who secures the largest number of new members during the 12 months. After supper a long toast list was honoured and musical items rendered.
