A Leakage!
BOARD IN COMMITTEE INFORMATION FOR PRESS V\7HY go into committee when the business transacted under such a safeguard is discussed in the Press next day? That point was raised by a member of the Auckland Electric Power Board on Monday. The chairman having in open board stated that the Arapuni conference was satisfactory, moved that the board go into committee, to discuss the business more intimately. Mr. R. G. Clark: Why go into committee? We were in committee before you went to the conference at Hamilton and everything came out in the Press next day. Had the board anything to go into committee about? Mr. J. Park denied that there had been any breach of confidence on the part of members of the Auckland Power Board delegation. Mr. M. J. Bennett said that it was strange how business discussed in committee by any local body seemed to get out into the Press.
