He Won the Wager
DIP IN ICY SEA (From Our Own Correspondent . ) WANGANUI, Monday. When a young man was seen entering the sea at Castlecliff yesterday, some people thought he required medical examination. However, it appears that he made a wager at a dance on Saturday night. In fulfilment he took a dip yesterday, wearing the scantiest bathing attire. His friends waited on the beach with a closed-in car, plenty of warm rugs and a generous supply of stimulants. The daring young man suffered no ill-effects from his immersion, and won the bet.
