“STRUCK” ROCK
Arapuni being declared "black’’ had not entered into the calculations of the Auckland ElectricPower Board, but it did not altogether dismay members. When it was announced yesterday that the men had struck, the chairman, Mr. W. J. Holdsworth. softened the blow by remarking, “If they’d declared the job ‘wet’ 1 could have understood it. . . . It's a pity they couldn't declare they'd 'struck' rock.”
