AUCKLAND BOXERS MATCHED
BROADFOOT AND TAYLOR TWO TEN-ROUNDERS The Northern Boxing Association will stage two ten-round bouts at the Auckland Town Hall on June 27. The N.B.A. has matched the two Aucklanders, Frank Tayior (bantamweight) and Jim Broad foot (middleweight) against two Australian fighters, Fred Delaney and Ern Max respectively. Taylor is the amateur bantamweight champion of New Zealand, and this is his first fight as a professional. Broadfoot, who has a decision over Nelson McKniglit to his credit, is a middle-weight, who has a good if not lengthy record as a boxer. Both boys will be training in the evenings at the Fire Brigade gymnasium on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Not a great deal is known yet about their opponents. Max is training at Henry Donovan’s gymnasium, and Delaney is at present in Wellington.
