FIGHTING DRUNK

CHALLENGED A CONSTABLE Ernest Alexander was fighting drunk on Saturday afternoon. He didn’t care who it was he fought—obviously —for he even challenged a policeman. When Constable Morton arrived at a house in Remuera Road, he found the owner barring Alexander from entering. The constable advised him to go away and proceeded to walk down toward the Police Station. Alexander, resenting the order, however, followed him all the way, wanting to fight the constable. As he was asking for trouble he got it. and after spending Sunday in gaol, he appeared in the Police Court this morning and was fined £2.
