HUMPHREY BISHOP CO.
AT THE STRAND When the Humphrey Bishop Musical Comedy Company, which will appear twice daily at the Strand Theatre, commencing on Friday next, were playing in Nairobi, British East Africa, Mr. Henry Tarleton, the famous hunter who took "President Roosevelt on his hunting trip through Africa, invited some of the members of the company' to go lion-hunting one Sunday morning. After trekking for a couple of hours the dogs took up the scent of what at first was thought to be a lion. It turned out to be a leopard. The
dogs finally got the beast at bay, and the hunters, including Mr. Humphrey Bishop, spread out fan-fashion. Suddenly the leopard left its hiding place, making straight for Mr. Bishop, who candidly admits taking to his heels and running for his life. Luckily for him Mr. Tarleton, who by the way is an Australian, shot the animal dead. Although Mi> Tarleton on examining the leopard, said there must be others about, as this one showed signs of fighting. Mr. Bishop insisted that h»* had had quite enough big game shooting for on<- day.
