KNIGHTS OF THE WHISTLE

Rev. W. B. Scott (Dunedin), who is in his 21st year of active refereeing. An old Thames boy, Mr. Scott is a Methodist preacher, who is well known all over the Dominion for his enthusiasm for the Dominion’s national game. Mr. Scott estimates that he has controlled at least 500 games, and has travelled over 2,000 miles in order to officiate. As a member of the N.Z.E.F. during the war, he was often called upon.

Mr. W. J. Meredith (Auckland), who this season completes his 25th year as a Rugby referee. He has controlled games all over New Zealand, and estimates he has refereed approximately 780 matches in his time. A noted exponent of refereeing under the amended rules, where his former experience as a track runner stands him in good stead, W.J.’s services are constantly in request for matches in all parts of the Dominion.
