WATERWORKS LOAN

FAVOURABLE TERMS Reporting on the conversion of £107,000 of the £150,000 waterworks loan last evening, the mayor told the city council that advice was received yesterday that it was possible to place the loan privately in London on 30-year currency at 5S per cent., subject to certain charges, and costing the council 99J per cent, in Auckland. The cost inclusive of redemption will be £5 10s 8d annually, and is much more advantageous than a recent offer at 55 per cent, from Australia. The council agreed to acceptance.
