Mrs- Lee was presented with an entree dish on behalf of the women of the electorate, and with a bunch f v T lo ets from the children. Mr. G. E Smerdon, Deputy-Mayor of nfS ar M et| presided in the absence ? f * he Mayor Mr. S. Donaldson, who is in Wellington on business connected with the borough. The presentation came not only from Mr. x.ee s political supporters, he said, but from all who appreciated the able way M r- Lee had represented the electors. Mr. A. Kent, chairman of the Newmarket Business Promotion Society, thanked Mr. Lee on behalf of the business men and councillors for his services in Parliament. Mr. Lee thanked the donors for their gifts and goodwill. At the end of the present session he would have represented Auckland East for six years.
