PRINCESS AND TIVOLI
NEW PROGRAMME TO-NIGHT The Universal-Jewel feature film, “The Whole Town’s Talking,’’ will be shown at the Princess and Tivoli tonight. This screen version of the famous stage success by John Emerson and Anita Loos is said by those who have seen previews to be one of the funniest comedies of a comedy season. Edward Everett Horton, whose type of comedy is irresistible, has the stellar role in this picture and is supported by an unusually talented cast. Virginia Lee Corbin has the leading feminine role. Trixie Friganza, the noted stage star, has an important part. Otis Harlan, famed for his sense of comedy, has another part. Hayden Stevenson, noted for his role in “The Leather Pushers,” is another in the cast. Dolores Del Rio, the millionaire Mexican beauty, Margaret Quimby, former dancer with George White’s Scandals, Robert Ober, Aileen Manning and Malcolm Waite have important roles. The picture was directed by Edward Laemmle from the script written by Raymond Cannon. A splendid cast is seen in Paramount’s picturisation of Zane Grey’s “Man of the Forest,” which will also be screened. Jack Holt, popular hero of many gripping Western stories by the widely-read author, plays the male lead. He recently completed “Forlorn River,” which was made by the same director, John Waters. Georgia Hale has the feminine lead opposite Holt. She went West after having completed a featured role in “The Great Gatsby.” Herbert Brenon’s Paramount production. Other members of the cast include El Brendel, comedian; Warner Oland. Tom Kennedy. Ivan Christie, Bruce Gordon and Vester Pegg. The lastnamed is reputed one of the West’s most skilful riders.
