VERDICT OF SUICIDE
SHOT WITH REVOLVER Press Association . WELLINGTON, Tuesday. An inquest as to the death of Mr. William Edward Spencer, aged 63, who was found dead with a revolver shot in his head on the Thorndon Breastwork at 7.30 a.m. last Tuesday, was held before Mr. E. Page, S.M., coroner, to-day. The evidence showed that Mr. Spencer, after having completed 47 years’ service in the Education Department, retired in December, 1925. He was somewhat worried about his health, although the day before his death he seemed to be in the best of spirits. The coroner found that the deceased had committed suicide by shooting himself with a revolver.
