AUCKLAND PRICES Cow hides showed an improvement, otherwise prices at the fortnightly hide and skin sale conducted by Alfred Buckland and Sons yesterday were practically on a pari, with late sales. Following is a resume of prices:—

Cow hides, best, 7|d to 8d; second grade and cut, id to 7sd; ox, best grade, light, TJd to 731. medium, B§d to 83d;; heavy, 9d to 9 l-6d; second grade and cut, 7£d to 73d; kip and runners, best, 7-id to 73d; second grade, sid to 6Jd; yearlings, best, B}d to 8i<l; second grade, 61d to 7d; calfskins, best, light, 12d to 12Ld; light to medium, 12Jd to 123 d; cut and meaty, BJd to 9d; slippy and stale, s\d to 6£d; bull-hides, best light, *ld to 43d; second and bad .*-haped, 3£d to 4d. Tallow, in barrels, good mixed, 24s 6d to 25s 6d per cwt; in shipping casks, 26s to 26s 6d per cwt; in tins, 24s per cwt; second grade, 20s to 21s 6d; inferior, 16s to 18s.
