DAIRY INDUSTRY

POSITION IN AUSTRALIA By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright SYDNEY, Tuesday. The annual conference of the Dairy Factory Managers and Secretaries’ Association was opened to-day in Sydney. Delegates from New Zealand and the United States are present as guests. In his opening speech the president said that, as a result of droughts, bush jires and floods in the past season, the price of dairy produce had not been commens jrate with the work done and the capital involved. If under the present conditions women and children were withdrawn from or debarred from assisting on dairy farms the industry would be defunct in less than 12 months. —A. and N.Z.
