NOT PROPERLY CORKED

HAIR-TONIC BOTTLE DAMAGED CLOTHES (Special to TUB SUN.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Harriet Enna Gandy claimed £9 16s lOd from Benjamin Brickman, a ladies’ hairdresser, alleging that damage had been done to a coat and ttvo pairs of stockings, as the result of a proper cork not having been used for a bottle of hair tonic. It was said that the plaintiff was warned that the preparation was liable to force its way out of the bottle, and her counsel claimed that in view of that fact defendant should have seen that the cork was secure. The bottle leaked in her bag and did the damage for which the claim was made. The defendant asserted that the bottle was properly corked, and the the cork had probably come out as the result of the swinging of the bag. The magistrate awarded the plaintiff £ 4 18s od.
