the important leading role of Herre Bouton in Pola Negri’s new starring vehicle for Paramount, “The Woman on Trial,” which Mauritz Stiller is directing. Hanson’s first engagement with Paramount, which led to his being signed under a long-term contract by that organisation, was with Miss Negri in “Barbed Wire,” which has been acclaimed as one of the most powerful dramas ever filmed.
