UNEMPLOYED IN CITY
BUREAU REGISTRATIONS There has been a net decrease of 13 registrations of the unemployed this ■week according to figures supplied by the Auckland Labour Bureau to-day. The number of men who made application for work of a heavy nature was greatly in excess of the total desiring light occupations. This is invariably the case, the number of applications for the week being respectively 491 and 156, as against 497 and 159 for the previous period. ■Work was found for only 31 men during the week, whereas 37 found a billet in the seven days ending May 25.
