CHARACTER COMPETITION

IN FOUR THEATRES Mr. J. Kingston, vaudeville manager, at the Britannia TheJLtre, has made arrangements with the Royal Theatre (Kingsland), West End and Britannia Theatres (Ponsonby), and the Strand Theatre (Onehunga) to inaugurate a grand character item competition. The total prize money amounts to £4O and can be taken in cash or a trophy at the winner’s choice. Each competitor will appear at all of the four theatres and the voting on the individual performance will be done by ballot of the audience. No entrance fee is charged and the closing date will shortly be announced.
