PRINCE EDWARD

“OLD SHOES” Old Shoes,” which is now being screened at the Prince Edward Theatre, is a most unusual and human story with about the strongest cast that could be assembled for the characters in this photoplay. Noah Beery is cast as Joseph Winkins, a southern gentleman farmer who seldom, if ever, soiled his hands with hard labour. Many believed the man had an unbalanced mind, while, others believed that he was only playing a part in order to cover up many barbarous deeds and. when confronted, would laugh hearty, offer a drink, and his actions were overlooked for the time as people thought he was not responsible. He would inflict bodily punishment on his wife and stepson and even to the animals about the farm and laugh heartily over it. Instead of resenting him, the victims pitied him; all except one—a horse that he had abused. The cast includes Noali Beery, Viona Daniels, John Harron, Zasu Pitts, Ethel Terry and Russel Simpson.
