Some two weeks ago the railway authorities saw fit to close one of the entrances to the Papatoetoe station leading from Shirley Road, and erected a notice advising that “Trespassers will be prosecuted.’* This caused the residents from that quarter no small concern and also a whole lo* of discussion. That somebody has taken action is quite evident, as tin wires recently erected have been cut, a plank laid down for a bridge, ant until the Department again blocks the unauthorised thoroughfare it will be “Business as usual.” k
