Oysters will not be selling in the shops until June 15. Flounders are still scarce retailing at 1s 3d a lb. Schnapper and mullet retail at 6d a lb.; terekehi, 4d; moki, 10d. Cash over the counter price for veal chops is 9d a lb.; pork sausages, 8d a lb.; corned brisket (boned), 5d a lb.; neck of mutton, 6d a lb. Farmers’ butter in the marts in short supply makes 1s 2d to 1s 3d a lb.; hen eggs, 3s 4d to 3s sd; duck eggs, 2s 9d to 2s 10d. Clever Mary is in big demand and is selling at the usual price at all grocers.
