“MENTALLY DEFICIENT” GETTING THE WHEREWITHAL Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. “This man is mentally deficient. He has recently married, and the wherewithal for the honeymoon came from the forging of these eleven cheques representing £116,” said Mr. Upham in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when a fairly young man, whose name was suppressed in the meantime, was charged on eleven counts with having forged cheques. The accused pleaded guilty, and was committed for sentence.
