The following acceptances have been received for the Canterbury Park Trotting Club's meeting, which opens on the King's Birthday;— YALDHURST HANDICAP, 1$ miles; 3.10 limit.
WORK AT WINGATUI SET SAIL DOES BEST Press Association. DUNEDIN, To-day. The course is very heavy and the surrounding hills sprinkled with snow. Work this morning was done on the outside of the course proper. A large number of horses worked, but few went against the watch. Tholomon and Luthy finished together over four in 59. Tarleton ran four in 56, the fastest half of the morning. Hoylake ran half a mile in 60 easily. ONE OF THE BEST Hard Prince jumped five schooling hurdles well in 2.2, the last four in 1.25, one of the best performances of the week. Paper Boy went four nicely in 58. and Doleful Ditty the same distance in 58 3-5. Scion schooled over two hurdles well with Adjutor. Cassolette beat Solzia over five in 1.14, and Ophir ran six in 1.32. Radiac jumped three big fences well, but rather extravagantly. Vice Grand beat Dubious over a circuit on the fiat. MUST HAVE A CHANCE Celerity II beat Lava and Fairy Herald over four in 58sec. by several lengths. The English mare is very well. Wingatui was too good for Lads Tractor over five. Wharncliffe easily beat Relic over seven, and must have a chance in the Jumpers’ Flat. Arrowmir went a good half, the last three in 46 l-ssec. Set Sail, picked up by Bilbo after going a furlong, ran six in 1.30, the best gallop of the morning, as the mare had a good weight up. Sect mbm pwkw pykw pykw pykwppp
