CRICKET AT PORTSMOUTH RAIN PREVENTS PLAY dinner for n.z. team By Cable. — Prcs3 Association.—Copyright Reed. 8 a.m. LONDON, Friday. Rain prevented resumption of play in the match between the Royal Navy and New Zealand teams at Portsmouth. The match was abandoned. The New Zealanders were entertained at a dinner given by the Royal Navy last night. Lord Jellicoe reminiscently and appropriately proposed a toast to the success of the Dominion. Mr. D. Hay, manager of the team, responded. Admiral de Robeck, president of the Nary Cricket Club, proposed the health of 'The Touring Team,” and in doing so he expressed a hope that it would have a successful tour and a happytime.
