SOCIAL AT HENDERSON

A social and dance, tendered to Mr. H. G. R. Mason, M.P., by his Henderson supporters, was a great success, despite the absence of Mr. Mason, who was called away from Auckland on urgent business. In his absence, Messrs. W. J. Jordan and W. Parry, M.P.’s, attended. About 100 people were present in the Town Hall, and the success of the evening foreshadowed many more similar affairs. Mr. Jordan apologised for the absence of the guest on important duties. Presenting the prizes to the winners in the cards competition he referred humorously to the fact that a young lady shortly to be married should have won the 501 b. bag of flour.
