NO TYPHOID FEVER AT ST. HELIERS CAMP
RUMOURS DENIED Rumours of an outbreak of typhoid fever in the Public Works camp at St. Heliers were emphatically denied by Mr,. J. W. Carr, chairman of the Tamaki Road Board, at a meeting of the board last evening.
Mr. Carr went on to say that the Health Department was making an investigation of the camp, half of which was in a deplorable condition as far as sanitary arrangements were concerned. About three months ago there had been a case of typhoid, and apparently the rumours had grown from that.
