KILLED IN STREET
BOY STRUCK BY LORRY \A7TLLIAM Gordon Holmes, aged nine years, was knocked down by a motor lorry in Fanshawe Street yesterday afternoon. The lorry was driven by Samuel Whitford, who was employed by the Steel Construction Company, Ltd. The parents of the boy live at 17 Duke Street, Freeman’s Bay. The lorry was passing two stationary vehicles near the offices of the Kauri Timber Company and it is thought that Holmes ran out and was struck by the rear wheel. The boy died while he was being conveyed to the hospital.
