CHORAL SOCIETY CONCERT
“THE CREATION” “The best final rehearsal staged for years,” was said of the practice held last evening to give the finishing touches to “The Creation” (Haydn), which is to be presented to musiclovers by the Auckland Choral Society at the Town Hall to-morrow evening. The first appearance in Auckland of Miss Naomi Whalley, who is described by Wellington critics as a charming young singer with a full-toned exquisitely sympathetic soprano voice, has aroused great interest in musical circles of this city.
Miss Whalley is acclaimed as “the finest soprano heard for a decade,” and her beautiful top note, resultant from a pure natural voice, has won the admiration of those already privileged to hear her.
Mr. Birrel O’Malley, tenor, and Mr. A. G. Colledge, bass, will also give solo items. The choir and orchestra is under the baton of Mr. Colin Muston.
